Acceptance
By creating an account or using MARLOG, you agree to these Terms of Use.
What MARLOG is
MARLOG is a discovery, learning and reference app for coastal mariners. It is not a navigation system, not an electronic chart system (ECS/ECDIS), and not a substitute for official nautical charts, weather reports or safety equipment.
AI safety
MARLOG includes an AI assistant. It is for assistance only. Never use it as the sole source for navigation, weather or safety decisions. Always verify critical information with authoritative sources before acting on it at sea.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to use MARLOG. You are responsible for keeping your password safe and for all activity that happens on your account. Tell us right away if you suspect unauthorised access.
Supporter subscription
MARLOG offers an optional auto-renewing Supporter subscription, purchased through Apple’s App Store. It unlocks no features — every part of MARLOG stays free — and its benefits are recognition only. Manage or cancel it at any time in your App Store subscription settings; payment and renewal are handled by Apple under Apple’s terms.
Acceptable use
You agree not to: harass other users; scrape, mirror or automate large-scale access to the MARLOG API outside normal app use; submit false or misleading place listings or visit logs; spam reviews or comments; or interfere with the service’s integrity.
Your content
If you submit a place, photo, review or other content to MARLOG, you grant MARLOG a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content within the app and to make it available to the MARLOG community. You keep ownership of your content. Do not submit anything you do not have the right to share.
Termination
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms. You may close your account at any time from Settings → Delete account or by emailing support.
Liability
MARLOG is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of place data, weather forecasts, AI responses or any other content. To the maximum extent allowed by law, MARLOG and its team are not liable for damages arising from your use of the app, including any decisions you make at sea. Your safety is your responsibility — always carry official charts, follow COLREGs, and listen to official marine forecasts.
Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. The courts of Istanbul have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute that cannot be resolved by good-faith discussion first.
Changes
We may update these terms over time. If we make significant changes, we will update the date above and notify you in the app. Continued use after a notice means you accept the updated terms.
